Egan Lab - Fungal Cell Biology

University of Arkansas, Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology

We are pleased to have two new students joining our lab this summer. Nawaraj Dulal comes to us from Kathmandu, Nepal and is a research assistant earning his Master’s of Science in Plant Pathology. His project focuses on pathogenicity strategies of Magnaporthe oryzea with a focus on appresorium morphology and protein-protein interactions.

Ayanna St. Rose earned the Adair/Bollenbacher Scholarship and Summer Internship through her outstanding scholastic achievements and we are very pleased to have her in our lab this summer. She is originally from Dominica, an island in the Caribbean sea, and has lived in Fayetteville, AR while earning her bachelor of science degree in biology. Her summer project is in collaboration with the University of Arkansas Physics department where she will explore the role of silver nanoparticles in inhibiting pathogenicity of the rice blast pathogen, Magnaporthe oryzea

If you need to get in touch with Nawaraj or Ayanna their contact information is found on our “People” page.

Welcome to the Egan lab!
